The Celiac Support Group of S.E.N.E. was started in 1998 and in 2001 became a 'Registered Chapter' with the Celiac Sprue Association (CSA). Our chapter is located in Tiverton, Rhode Island and is dedicated to helping individuals with Celiac Disease and Dermatitis Herpetiformis through education, information and on-going assistance.
We meet in the months of January, March, May, September and November yearly.
Every meeting is part 'open forum' to allow celiacs to ask questions or express concerns and get answers. Meetings consist of vendor sampling, guest speakers, 'hands-on' cooking classes and dining out experiences.
We assist/educate celiacs to identify products that are what we call 'red flag' ingredients which may contain hidden glutens. A 'hand-out' table is set-up at every meeting where you will find product update info, formulation change info and new recipes.
